Autumn beauty of bulbs

Children should learn that there is always something going on in nature, they should be aware of the changing seasons. That every plant has its time. They should learn which flower is which.
Explain to children why bulbs and tubers are placed in plastic baskets (rodents, bulbs falling). After flowering, children should take care of removing the bulbs and tubers from the ground, cleaning them and storing them until next year. Tell children about how dahlias (Dahlia) came to Bohemia, that they are originally a flower from Mexico, that they had and still have their supporters, who organize an annual dahlia parade and celebrate the Dahlia Festival (Česká Skalice).
Task for children: for each group of plants – or each one, children should make their own label, a sign. So that they know which flower will grow where, and can observe it from the very beginning. Children can also make small boxes to store bulbs and tubers after removing them from the ground.
